February 2005 Abstract Preparation
Guidelines
As described in the Call for Papers, an extended
abstract of 3-to-4 pages only is to be submitted, including figures
and references. Shorter submissions may result in automatic rejection.
The goal is that this material sufficiently describes the main message
of the paper for the technical program committee. All pertinent results
that demonstrate the usefulness and the significance of the work should
be included. Each abstract must be accompanied by the Abstract
Submission Form.
Submission
Format
Authors Keywords Text (with the following suggested main section headings)
Introduction - Explain the subject and its significance/application
to sensor technology.
Preliminaries - An overview of the results of previous work
in the field.
Results - The main message of the paper, including a description
of the work undertaken, procedures applied, results and/or expectations,
and anticipated impact(s). Include any illustrations and figures with
captions.
Conclusion - A summary of the contributions and significance
of the paper.
References - A list of key references and external documents
and papers, not just a list of prior publications of the author(s).
Submission
Process
Submit the (1) abstract and (2) Abstract Submission Form as one zipped
attachment file in text, Word or pdf only. Name the file with the lead
author's last name. Your Abstract and Abstract Submission Form can be
delivered to the SIcon FTP site via your web browser using ftp://sicon.myers-smith.com
in the address line. Then you can drag and drop your file into the browser
to upload your forms. You will be able to see your files while you are
in the site this time. Once you log off, you will not be able to see
your files in the site again. Abstracts and Abstract Submission forms
may also be sent via email to lee.myers@ieee.org.
Abstracts received will be promptly assigned a number (to be used in
all communications and all identifications relating to the abstract/paper)
and a list of received abstracts will be posted on this conference web
site by contact author as soon as possible. Please allow one week between
submission and posting on the web, particularly as the submission deadline
nears. Authors will be contacted by e-mail for correction or problems
or if additional material is required.
IMPORTANT! Submission of abstracts implies the authors' willingness
to register at the conference and present the paper. An accepted paper
will be published in the proceedings only if the final version is accompanied
by the registration form(s) and fee(s) for at least one of the authors
- only full member and non-member fees will be accepted for this
purpose - no exceptions.
